SpaceX's Falcon 9 Grounded Following First Failure in 300+ Launches (ETA: flying again)

The FAA has grounded SpaceX's Falcon 9 fleet for a mishap investigation following the first failure to fulfill a flight profile by the vehicle in more than 300 launches
Booster worked as expected... the failure came with the second stage as much more ice than normal was seen around the engine during its first burn
It made it to engine shutdown... but a RUD occurred when it lit up for its second scheduled burn
The Starlinks on board were deployed... but at a much lower orbit than desired and it's feared they won't be able to get to their operating orbit and will eventually reenter the Earth's atmosphere
Scott Manley explains the failure below

Boeing seems to not have this issue
Pays to back the right political players.

Was a roof near the launch pad conveniently left unattended?

They were grounded a few days ago, well before the announcement today.

This actually happened a few days ago.
I don't expect this will be a very long grounding.
Boeing probably sabotaged it though so Elon couldn't get the glory of rescuing the astronauts they stranded in space.

0 of 20 are active. They're all coming down.

Interesting how the FAA will ground SpaceX for anything, yet Boeing literally strands astronauts in space indefinitely and not a peep from the FAA or nasa

They didn't have a rapid unscheduled disassembly.

This really isnt that big of a deal, if it was it would've been all over the news a week ago when it happened. I suspect Falcon 9 will be launching again by early August. The FAA doesn't even conduct the investigation. SpaceX does and then hands their findings and corrective measures over to the FAA for review.

The FAA investigation is still ongoing... but it was apparently happy enough to allow SpaceX to fly the Falcon 9 again as the vehicle took off for space last night for the first time since the failed orbital insertion

A sensor line was loose. I think they already decided that it was not needed and will 86 it.

So did we strand the two astronauts on the space station?
