Over holidays spent time with relatives who know a few current LSU players who were home for holidays. They confirmed co-DC was a diaster and nobody knew what was going on all season. One defensive player tells a story of one coach telling him to go on the other to stay out. He said this happened repeatedly. Claims it really hurt the morale of defense.

I like Miles and will continue to support him, but this is clearly his fault and he must accept responsibilty for it.

The QB situation is just bad luck in my opinion and I dont blame him for sending trouble makers down the road regardless of whether they are five stars starters or three stars back ups.

That move by Miles was idiotic. Lost a lot of respect for him

based on the action he appears to be taking, I would say he has...

while I do agree that the co-DC's did a horrible job this year, I wonder if the players have taken any responsibility for pathetic tackling and needless personal fouls?

besides showing them the door and hiring someone to replace them, how else can he accept responsibility?

Miles is a very confusing study. On one hand the dismissal of RP was one of the classiest, bravest things he has done, post Katrina.

On the other hand, publicly pinning the poor performance of the team on players - offense or defense during the season vs. stepping up and taking the live rounds did not take much courage or class.

I hope that the new coaches can instill unity, discipline, and passion in addition to being good coaches.

I blame him and Crowton for not using their advanced offensive experience to get a new QB ready for the season. They had 6 months to do it, he doesn't get a pass for this one either.

I think he realizes his error and is doing something about it.

I urged many on here who doubted to talk to the players themselves. The situation was pretty bad. I hope things can heal itself.

"I like Miles and will continue to support him, but this is clearly his fault and he must accept responsibilty for it. "

The head coach is responsible as always. He is doing something. He is hiring Chevis. He will not have a co-DC situation anymore. He made a mistake, paid for it and now is rectifying his mistake. Even with this mistake, a decent QB situation would have meant a few more wins (2 maybe 3)

...and beyond replacing the co-Ds with a solid singular DC, what would you have Miles do? Report to the town square dunking chair for a spin in the Lakes for your personal "fault" satisfaction?

Really now, let us know, inquiring minds are curious. Oh, wait, but Miles is the HC already ... do you think the proverbial buck might stop with him to begin with when his LSU FB team doesn't perform up to expectations? Nah! Couldn't be, cause according to you he hasn't flogged himself publicly sufficiently yet to atone for his debacle - and it was a debacle no one could possibly be more keenly aware of than Miles himself and his entire team - of the co-Ds.

For crying out loud, gimme a break.

P.S. Perhaps after the town square dunking chair, two weeks in stocks in the center of Tiger Stadium would pacify your public fault repentance mission for Miles?

Players hated the losing season, and blaming the losing the duel DC's is way to easy.
