Leverage or not, he’s a top 20 pick and shouldn’t sign at 40. He will be guaranteed to sign higher than that next year

Even if he got drafted at 20 next year he would lose money with no leverage.

Maybe up front but he wouldn’t lose future contract potential. Plus he wouldn’t have to suffer in the minors as long.

You would think if he does well he won’t have to sit in the As farm system long.

You don’t understand what leverage means. Why would he be drafted higher next year when his only option is to go pro.
