Anyone ever install pallet boards/ tin wainscoting?

Any tips? Such as nails or screws used, etc.

Thing is, pallet wood is nasty even for a camp. Sure it's cheap and is already rough enough for that "rustic" look some people are looking for, but it's cheap because it's full of crap and bugs that makes it unsuitable for anything else but pallets. I had a project building custom shelving for a country-style kitchen and the owner wanted to use pallets he picked up from work. I told him there might be a problem then cut into a few pieces until I found the living beetles that would have later infested his kitchen. We switched over to poplar 1x's that I dinged up, torched, sanded, and finished to make them look like old wood. More work but better results and no bugs to crawl out of it years later...

Some can live in the wood for years before coming out. Even in the studs used to build new houses...

True, and they can be present in brand new ones.
