You have a defensive coordinator who does not have a second job as a position coach, like linebackers coach. The new DC should be just that and nothing more, like Pelini was. The problem is Miles hiring Robinson to be special teams coach only. This to me causes a big problem with coaching numbers. The best situation is having a DC only, and a position coach also coach special teams, like Peveto did when Pelini was here. By the way, I was underwhelmed by our special teams play this year, especially when you hire one guy to be a special teams coach only. Thoughts?

that's stupid. Saban coaches DBs. Muschamp coached LBs when he was here. I think Walker coaches DBs. Having a coach on staff who doesn't have a secondary positional role is a waste, IMO. I don't even really like the fact that Miles doesn't have a positional duty.

Really, what did Palini coach, besides being a full-time defensive coordinator at LSU?

he didn't coach any position. And it was stupid.
