5-star 2026 LSU quarterback target Faizon Brandon moves up commitment date
Tyler Nettuno

LSU already has the top quarterback and overall player on board in the 2025 cycle, and it’s trying to add an elite option in the 2026 class as well.

One of the players the Tigers have been pushing for is five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, a Greensboro, North Carolina, native who ranks as the No. 1 overall prospect nationally according to the 247Sports rankings.

LSU was one of several schools that hosted Brandon in the month of June, and he has now decided to move up his commitment to August, according to 247Sports’ Anna Adams. He also is expected to release a top-five soon.

The Tigers have two commits in the 2026 class, picking up some steam this week. Now, they hope to land one of the top players in the cycle ahead of the start of the 2024 season.

Doubt he’ll pick us but who knows. Just my guess but when you grab an elite player like Bryce you’ll have trouble recruiting another highly rated guy in 26 right behind him. I believe 2027 in LA is loaded at QB so that may be the plan

2027 in LA is loaded at QB, so maybe we wait.

But Bama seems to get a top-ranked QB every year and purge them as necessary over time.

Whatever Deboer is selling, these kids are buying. We’ll see how their offense looks in the fall with Milroe, but there’s a long time til the 2026 class signs.

Milroe, if he progresses like he did last season (average early and good late), will be a first round pick due to his natural abilities (speed, size and arm strength). His only question will be accuracy, which may be the most important QB trait...

Fixed it for you. Especially in the NFL where the difference between the great teams and the crap teams is marginal.

With Bryce onboard I can't see Faizon picking LSU. He probably doesn't want to sit behind Bryce for 2 years.

I get what you're saying, but the way players move around now, especially QBs, I don't think guys are going to be taking that into consideration much any more.

That isn’t stoping other big time programs from getting commitments from top 10 QBs again.
