Posted awhile back about a honeymoon to Italy.

After many great recs we settled on flying into Venice and spending a few days there and then spending the rest in the Dolomites.

Anyone done anything similiar or have recommendations for either area.

Appreciate any input.

Awesome, I've had this area on my radar for a while now. Hoping to get there in the next 18 months.

Wondering if it is possible to pair this area with French/Swiss Alps or just stick to Italy and make that another trip?

Twice we've combined a visit to Venice with day trips to the province Veneto which extends from the coastal lagunes up to the Dolomites. Both times we have used Venice Day Trips. LINK

Once it was just the two of us, and once four. Typically, you visit 4 wineries and have a grand lunch on a farm or just a local cafe.

It's a husband/wife company, both are highly trained with respect to food and wine. She's from US. He's Italian.

I recommend you contact them via their website and build a Prosecco tour into your trip. They'll transport you in a SUV or small van.

Realize that travel in the Dolomites takes longer than you thing. Windy steep mountain roads. There are a ton of lakes and hiking areas in the Dolomites. Research and enjoy!

And...congratulations!

I did the later. I did the Dolomites with the Swiss and Austrian Alps and paired Venice with places like Rome and Tuscany.

Hotel recs for the OP-

Hotel Ai Cavalieri in Venice.

For the Dolomites-
Hotel De La Poste in Cortina d’ Ampezzo
