When are we going to get the type of guys that just shut teams down?

We've had a good pen, but we haven’t had what we faced last night in a long long time. North Carolina didn’t have a care in the world with their guys on the mound. They ABSOLUTELY KNEW those guys would keep the game close.

The last 2 years, we haven’t really had THAT guy. I point out the last 2 years bc we won a Natty. And yes, the bullpen played an enormous role in that, but you all would be lying to yourselves if you said you knew they could do it.

We simply have had guys pitch out of their mind to give ourselves a chance. We haven’t had the guy that we 100% knew we could count on. Even Ack- the only person with that kind of faith in him was Jay. Not many of us. As good of a result that Guidry gave us, he scared the shite out of me on the mound.

I’m not reading all that but if you didn’t see a huge improvement in the pen over the season I’m not sure what to tell you.
Not having Little made a difference as well.

This is your question after we had one of our little used guys go 5.2 of shutdown ball against one of the best teams we played this year?

Did you read my post. I said, when are we going to get the type of guys that we KNOW can do it versus the “little used guys” that pitch out of their mind

No, because the first line was so dumb I stopped there to ask why it was so dumb.

Next year, you could very well be looking at what you’re dreaming of I suppose. No college pen is going to have 4-5 guys to go grab.

Convince herring to come back as a starter. Weekend rotation looks like some combo of shores, herring, noot, anderson.

Then between Johnson, Victorian, the odd man out from above and some of the incoming recruits, there’s potential to be absolutely loaded on the mound next year. Will obviously take some development.

Also sure Jay will grab at least 1 proven portal guy. I’m very excited about the pitching depth next year.

Come on dude…that was a one-time thing. It’s like the World Series last year; some of those guys came alive for that one stretch. They don’t pitch like that all year.
