Kids want to see it this weekend.
Any good?

Took my 5 year old, she was too young the vast majority of the movie went over her head…but she giggled at the big purple monster and the fart jokes
The movie itself is light hearted movie but has a lot of adult themes (illness/hospitals, death, nursing homes, loss of youth, etc)
I’m also dumb and didn’t realize IF stood for “imaginary friends”

I wonder if Garfield is better?

It was good but not for kids under 14 to get the actual plot

Some parts were good. Definitely quite a good amount of filler. Ving Rhames was the highlight for me.

My 9 year old understood it perfectly
Thought it was a good little movie. It’s probably not as funny/silly as you would think OP. More of a just a sweet movie.

My 7 year old daughter enjoyed it. Not gonna lie I got teary eyed at one point which is rare

I did as well. I thought it had a lot of heart. My 6 year old won’t stop talking about it.

Isn’t an imaginary friend something younger kids tend to have? I certainly had a child’s imagination when I was younger, but I don’t recall having an imaginary friend.
* By the time I was in my early teen years I was thinking about boobs.

but the plot is more about growing up and losing imagination/hope not really just a funny movie about imaginary friends (which is what I was expecting)
my young daughter laughed and sat through the whole movie and liked it, but the plot/message requires you to not be a kid anymore to understand

Not worth theater prices and they missed a H-U-G-E opportunity to show Blue, Walt, Coco or any of the Fosters IF in the retirement home.
How can you have a movie about a Home for abandoned imaginary friends and not include a single IF from the GOAT IF foster home???
Fail

As someone who’s seen both in the last few days, I assure you it’s not.
A huge piece of shite.

This movie was terrible
.
It was slow as hell and extremely heavy handed. The beginning is brutal.
It felt like just a bunch of scenes spliced together with no coherent idea.
It wasn’t funny at all.
Huge miss.

Took my 6 y/o grandson. I absolutely loved it. The majority of the movie was definitely over his head but there were a few part that got some laughs out of him.
I honestly don’t even think it’s a childrens movie. Not that it’s inappropriate or anything. Maybe preteen girls would be the best kid demographic. I think it’s a movie for older adults. It really hits you in the feels. Definitely recommend as it is a very well done movie.

My 9 yr old daughter liked it. She pretty much likes every movie she sees at a theater.

signed up for MGM+ last night for this movie and it did not disappoint.
was a really good film, and it does hit you in the feels. Aunt Petunia doesn't look like she has aged from Harry Potter.
the introducing Brad Pitt as Dennis the invisible IF was a clever play from Deadpool 2.
