If I remember correctly, LiveNation originally signed acts to deals for tours. Then they leaned on venues essentially forcing them to switch to Ticketmaster if they wanted to book those acts.

Then they started buying venues. Once you own enough venues, you can essentially kill a tour if an artist isn’t willing to play ball.

It’s not your “right” to be an artist. There’s 10 more artists behind that one that will sign the dotted line.
