The 3 people I know that have them are all trying to dump them. One was successful, the other 2 people have pending lawsuits against GM. And that is with the “updated” engine.
One has to go in every 1k miles for an oil consumption test. He took his truck on vacation and went over the “1k mile interval between checks,” and they invalidated all previous data. Made him start the test over.
What are the lawsuits about? What issues are your friends having with their 3.0's? How many miles do they have on them? Why is your friend having to go get oil consumption tests at the 1000 mile mark?

One has qualified for a Lemon Law buyback I believe, I can check when I see him at work. I know he went 6-9 months without his truck while it sat at Gerry Lane.
The other guy is burning over a quart of oil every 1k miles. He has to go in and let them measure the oil on the dipstick every 1k miles. He has at least 20-30k miles on his and over a year old. He’s been fighting it since it was 6-8 months old.
I got rid of my 21 F150 and figured if I was going to pay the premium for diesel I just soon do it in a 3/4 ton. Seeing the numbers on the 6.2 verified that for me because I get the same mileage unloaded and assume would be the same or better towing. I think the 3.0 Duramax makes more sense power wise than the 3.0 Powerstroke did, but I think it is instantly negated if like most people around here, you go bigger tires and level then you’re right back to gasser fuel mileage at the fuel premium.
