"Legit" is definitely historically subject here. LSU took advantage of a rule that just became the norm just less than a decade earlier, and one that could be said was what opened Pandora's box to a big part of today's bullshite. Though I did/do agree with the the grad transfer, with no sit out year, rule, it definitely grew legs and has been taken advantage of negatively.
