I've only bought one gun from BPS (Bossier City), a Tikka T1x. At the time, it was hard to find it in stock online. BPS had it in stock and the price was same as online. Since BPS gave me a "free" cap and $50 discount (because I opened up a second BPS credit card account), it was a no brainer for me. Ask for a discount if you open up a credit card account,
OTOH, I had a VERY frustrating experience the only time I bought from BPS online. I bought primers, 22 LR ammo and bullets. Most of the items were not in stock; all were delivered to the store for me to pick up so I saved the $25 hazardous shipping fee. I'll probably never order from this online again. Long story short: Customer service does not have access to the emails sent to the customer; I received emails indicating the item had been received by the store, but the store said they didn't have it; their records indicated I'd picked up the Remington SR primers at a time and day when I was in Lafayette; CS at the store was no help and basically turfed me corporate CS. I eventually got a refund on the primers, but I found it very disappointing.
