For a first date guaranteed to lead to a second date, take her to Palmetto’s on the Bayou in Slidell. (Bring bug spray.) The Grand Theater Slidell is not far from there, if there’s a decent date movie in the offerings. Not familiar with Slidell nightlife, but there should be some decent bars in Old Town Slidell, I would think. Too bad that The Blind Tiger Slidell has closed.

This is a solid choice as well.
I have had some good meals there when I’m Slidell.
However, I still prefer the Covington food scene if I have a choice. For its size, Covington has far more quality restaurants than it should. Good stuff.
