I believe it was in 2013 that Ron Fouchier succeeded in making H5N1 transmissible by aerosols between ferrets, who have airways similar to humans. That started the gain of function that debate that Fauci and Collins secretly strangled in the cradle. Then their demon from Mojiang and their retarded new vaccine platform forever altered history. The problem here is that science is culturally incapable of admitting error and working to regain trust. As a discipline and profession, it is morally and philosophically stunted and immature.
