There’s at least one all star in the first 5 picks of every draft.

The one exception may be 2013 draft (Giannis) but I think Oladipo made an all star team even though it wasnt with the team that drafted him. The other 4 guys were complete trash.

Also, that allstar is typically in the first 3 picks.
The 4th and 5th pick is so much risk. You are more likely to draft a bust as you are a high level starter.

4 & 5 last few years:
Murray and Ivey
Barnes and Suggs
Pat Williams and Okoro
Hunter and Garland
JJJ and Trae
Josh Jackson and Fox
Bender and Dunn
Porzingis and Hezosomethingnotintheleagueanymore
Aaron Gordon and Exum
Cody Zeller and Alex Len (2013 shitty draft)
Dion Waiters and Thomas Robinson
Tristan Thompson and JV
Wesley Johnson and Cousins

26 all-stars in the first 5 picks, 9 of which were the #1 pick, 10 were from 2/3 and 7 from 4/5.
26 out of 65 selections. It's not bad odds if you trust your scouting department, and even when you don't get an all-star there's plenty of good role players as well.

But again, what's the point of this risk? If you're picking 4 or 5 you have a 25% chance you might draft someone who can reach the level BI has reached.
We aren't rebuilding. We have the next 3 years to prove to Zion we can win a championship or he's bolting. If we fail, it's either b/c he isn't good enough, or b/c we didn't give him the supporting cast after trading away our 2nd best player to get to that level.
