So basically a 4/140 extension is what I would offer

If you keep Ingram, you have to trade Murphy. Can't keep, pay and play both. Plus 4 years and he still hasnt figured it out with Zion. So I wouldn't keep him, even on a super low deal..

I just don't see why we'd want him at this point.

He's not going to change his shot profile. He's not going to commit to Zion being the guy, and when he doesn't, Willie is likely to appease him and go back to making Zion take the back seat again so BI can be the guy. Just because Zion was the #1 dude after the All Star break doesn't mean BI will be happy with it for 4 more seasons, I'd argue he 100% won't. And then what... If Willie is here, then you get BI as your #1 and Zion #2. If a coach who will stand up to BI is here, then you still need to trade him then, so why not just do it now?


We've also shown over the last 2 seasons that we can be even better when he doesn't play, albeit very close, so at worst, we've been no better when he plays.
