What are yall calling bumble bees? What I grew up calling bumble bees are the fat, slow, pollinators that never stung you even if you aggravated them.

bumble bees?

The attacking bees they think are bumble are really carpenter bees. Carpenter look like bumble but are aggressive. Carpenter are all talk, no sting.

Bumbles can sting but they aren’t aggressive and will only sting in ultimate defense.

Bumble bees pollinate more heavily than honeybees.

There are 48/49 species of bumble bees in N. America and their populations are declining.

The less informed should please leave them alone. Bee boxes on Amazon invite parasites. Again, please leave them bee.

There have been a few threads about them. I’m not sure of the species but they nest in the ground. They also get really pissed if you hit said nest with a weed eater or a bush hog. They also sting multiple times. It hurts. In my experience they are way worse than a yellow jacket.
