Super Bowls in the 70's and 80's drew 76,000 range
Mid 80s it dropped to 73,000 range
last few have been 71,000 range
Current configuration for Saints games maxes out somewhere in the 73,208 is listed as Capacity for football and expandable to 76,468.
they don't expand it for Saints playoff games, but do expand it for some Bowl games but apparently not all of them.
The Alabama Clemson playoff game in 2018 drew 72,000
the LSU Clemson title game drew 76,000+

It looks like constant renovations and changes to seating are why it goes up and down from what I can find. Looks like they are constantly adding and removing around 3000 seats here and there.
