I’d think Milazzo staying on the plate and herring going home would’ve been the easiest play. It was hit way too far away from the plate for the catcher to make the play

Wasn't there a big to do last year about runners running to the inside of the line being runner interference? i seem to remember that even one step on the inside of the line was illegal but seldom enforced. Meaning the runner has to stay on the outside of the line when running to first. Seems like they burned us last year with that.
But the play. Firstbaseman should have given a bigger target to the outside, he just sqatted there on first. Its a difficult play already for the catcher. But terrible throw, no way firstbaseman could catch it, weight was shifted the other way.

It's interference, pure and simple. If you can't see that, I can't help you.

If the runner wasn’t obstructing.
He threw the ball to wrong side of the bag. If he throws the ball to the bag or up the line, the runner is out.
He failed to execute
And BTW, I can guarantee you over the years LSU runners have done the same and gotten away with it. It’s baseball
Quit crying over this. You’re embarrassing yourself.
