The LORD works in mysterious ways. He could destroy Sodom and Gomorrah from the sky by raining fire from Elohim in heaven. But he never could destroy Gaza, Ashkelon, and Ashdod. He had to wait until Assyria did it. The best ole Yahweh could do was knock down the statue of Dagon and give the philistines rats and hemorrhoids (bubonic plague).
