Where exactly would you fire shots at if you were on the other side of the door and police were knocking? The cop is showing up to what he believes is a DV incident which is one of the most dangerous for law enforcement. Why would he stand in front of the door?

Why would an officer ever send away the lone witness who could actually ID the correct apartment, in such a dangerous situation
