Best I had was a 2007 Toyota Matrix. Got great gas mileage. Only issue other than regular maintenance items it had was alternator, I changed it myself and it was easy to get to. It did have minor very common things (wheel covers always come off) but it was a great car. About 250k on it when I got rid of it.
Worst I ever owned was Ford Edge. Infotainment system, turbo both replaced within 40k miles. Was exhibiting symptoms of coolant bypass into cylinders that is known issue with some years. So I traded it before it needed a new engine.
