Well, he's wrong on one thing off the bat, but pretty much spot on with everything else.
Democrats are only comfortable doing this because they realize they will almost certainly never receive anything like it in return - at least not on a scale of anything approaching this. Hell, even plenty of entrenched republicans are winking and nodding their way through it, working off the same assumption.
They are frickers all, but I'm not sure they are wrong in looking at it so.
