This - go to any professional HVAC message board, experienced technicians will universally state the most important factor in HVAC longevity & performance is the quality, and attention to detail of the install, with the equipment manufacturer being secondary. Rheem=Rudd, Carrier=Byrant, Trane=American Standard , Daikan=Goodman=Amana, ….. are all good units when properly installed & commissioned.

I would have no issue installing a Rudd or Carrier, although I changed out my unit last year with a Trane, but my decision was based mostly on the installing company and less on manufacturer of the equipment.
