State run market is not same as a free market. The whole point of state run is to disrupt a free market. Dumping inferior products with greatly reduced cost to replace say bridge or ship building have other costs downstream as the metal quality doesn’t hold up. Economic losses are one thing but health and welfare costs are another. Because of state control markets China in this case has become basically our supplier of medical care and this is very troublesome.
