Has nothing to do with "outsmarting" and everything to do with "arrogance". They thought that Hillary would win easily. They underestimated the voters support for Trump. It is that simple. In other words, they did not buy a big enough insurance policy. They made damn sure in 2020 the same mistake would not happen. The crazy thing is it almost did anyways. It took them days to get the "vote totals" they needed in the swing states. If is so fricken obvious. A candidate is winning all 6 swing states by a pretty wide margin and over night that candidate loses not 3, not 4, not 5, but all 6 my a thin margin. It is a statistical impossibility. Anyone with a ounce of common sense and a smidgen of critical thinking ability knows what happened.
