This should not be on the students. This should be stamped out by the administration. The trustees of the university should get involved if need be.

Almost all university faculty jobs have jobless PhDs 5 deep who would gratefully take the job, and nothing of value would be lost. And any faculty who are actually doing meaningful research are almost certainly not participating in bullshite like this. Universities are not owned or run by faculty and don't exist for faculty to push their politics on students.
