no it doesnt, not at all. i used to fix mowers for a living.
it takes me 15-20 minutes to replace the drive belt after the deck has been removed, and the only thing i remove other than the deck is the crank pulley and tranny pulley.
for the VSP you use twine tied to a screwdriver to pull the lever to remove the belts. work smarter, not harder.

it absolutely helps having that body off if you have large hands...it was much easier for me to remove the body and have tons of room than trying to squeeze my hands in the tiny battery hole...i guess removing 6 bolts is a headache for others? took me all of 2 minutes to remove it.
