The apartment I posted was to prove a point that there are places available for less than $200k anywhere you want. Someone may want a 500sf apartment in the best part of Houston. You might not but someone may. Someone may want a 70’s ranch outside of town. You might not but someone may.
And again, I asked then to be specific of a location and was told just something somewhere in Houston.
But the wholesale “there is nothing available anywhere” is bs.

$354/sqaure foot plus $310/month HOA dues is not affordable in Houston.
The median household income is only $71K in Harris County.
The median wage earner would be house poor and almost guaranteed to lose their arse on that little apartment when they decide to sell.
It exists but it's a terrible option which is precisely the point we have been making.
Congrats, you played yourself.

Let’s do a case study for you specifically. Where do you want to live? Let’s see if there is any reasonably priced homes in the are and if not, how far would you have to commute.
is a 190k for 30 year old apartment, reasonably priced?
