I agree with you radishes and I don't use them often enough. If you've never roasted them, give them a try. They're sweet and delicious.
Also agree on turnips. Vegetable beef soup is not the same without some turnips. I use them in place of potatoes. Tastes like my grandmother's soup.

They are great in braised dishes like lamb shanks and oxtail too. Adds a nice spice.
