Love Trump or hate Trump, Bannon’s great insight was that populist pushback is the only effective way to fight the entrenched bipartisan political establishment in Washington D.C.
In 2015, rather than treat Trump as a passing sideshow curiosity like the MSM, Bannon realized that Trump was giving voice to millions of Americans who increasingly were told by the reigning gatekeepers of allowable opinion that their genuine concerns over the direction of this country was based on either 1.) ignorance or 2.) an expression of white supremacy.
