That is a dismissive explanation.

The idea that it is more prevalent because it is easier to talk about is a minority portion of it.

Statistics do not bear out your viewpoint, especially in the young.

Your view that “mental illness is higher because people are more comfortable talking about it” is a huge problem.

I was meaning more in regards to women. Trying to say that women not having traditional 1950s lives doesn’t mean they are more miserable.

I’m not dismissing that mental health in general is a massive problem in this country and there is absolutely no easy solution.

As for the liberal women…again those women are likely more comfortable seeking mental health help than more conservative women, esp those conservative women that go to churches that frown upon medical assistance for mental health issues.

Men in general are horrible about being proactive for any health issues so not shocking they aren’t rushing to seek help with possible depression
