They both retired at 62 and travel constantly. Like big trips. You don’t need kids to take care of you because without kids, you can pay someone to do it.

I constantly see old childless people making excuses why in their old age loneliness is bliss

On the other hand, these people arent fit to be parents, so they are doing us all a favor anyway.

When people make excuses for their outcome, I often realize nature dodged a bullet in the long run. Party people arent meant to raise children.

Having children was really the role God made me for. I reveled in it. But now they are adults and have little comparative use for me. Which means I did my job because they are equipped for life on planet earth.

As for the death bed meme, we ALL die just as we live, alone. We may be surrounded by more people or less people, we may feel loved or unloved, but we all die alone. Our journey belongs to us and no one else. The rest is a comforting illusion. .

People that like to travel are "party people" and not meant to have kids? I'm not sure what kind of travelling you do.

And someone else said you can still travel if you had kids. Well, yes, but it's likely that you don't have nearly as much money to do it and also likely that you don't have enough to retire earlier as well. Another DINK couple I'm friends with made that choice 30+ years ago. They are extremely happy. You don't need kids to be happy. That's a complete myth. I know people with them who are happy (me!) and people without as well.
