Cornbread with milk and chopped onion. Or without onion. Cornbread broken up in great northern beans. Fresh out of the skillet with butter is the best way to start a meal.

I have pan fried it like pancakes and had it for breakfast with butter and cane syrup.

It works well with lots of stuff and puts weight on me like crazy

My dad (North LA yankee) ate cornbread and buttermilk.

It has been a loooong time. Fond memories of being at my grandmother's home as a kid.
