I don't think you have this quite right.

Brittany is clearly not entirely functional. She needs assistance and likely some kind of limited curatorship. In that regard, maybe her family was correct.

But her dad seems like a controlling sponge who was overpaying himself, and he didn't have the kind of expertise that she likely needed.

Brittany would have been much better off with a more professional curator, a professional fiduciary, rather than her dad.
