Bringing up Irma Thomas to sing her “Time is in on my Side ” with Mick was legendary. Mick explained how they heard this song coming over the radio back in England and loved it so much they recorded it and it became their first hit in the United States.
quote:
Thomas refused to sing her version after the Rolling Stones' recording for multiple decades, telling interviewers that the band had not acknowledged her despite giving support act slots to other singers like Tina Turner. In 1992, she began performing it again following a TV show appearance in which the host Bonnie Raitt introduced her as the original singer. On May 2, 2024, during the Rolling Stones' performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Jagger and Thomas performed the song as a duet, which was the first time the Rolling Stones had performed the song live since 1998

Maybe he saw the well publicized news stories about Landry wasting time and resources bloviating about LSUs women and the national anthem (inaccurately, too) and correctly deduced he’s an idiot.

Yes, but he’s our idiot. He can’t talk about our idiot.

Ha, well I will say the comment did seem pretty forced and random. Landrys retort was pretty good.

Five nice boys in their new matching suits
Note the old "hold the cig as low as possible" bit, so it can be cropped out if need be

I saw them at Bobby Dodd in 2015. Amazing show. So good in fact that I would never see them again. Don’t want to see them old and stinky. I’d like to remember them just as I saw them.

Would have loved to see the Stones one more time, I did see them twice in the 70's, but ticket prices are just getting ridiculous. It's amazing they are still making great music 60 years later!! Sad for my wife, she never got a chance to see them...

A dog saunters across the stage between Mick and the fans at Altamont.
I wonder how many times Mick has had a dog walk between him and the crowd in the middle of a concert?
