He was playing well but I don’t know if I would say lights out. Considering he was playing like a below avg qb majority of the season- I don’t know how much stock we should put into the last couple of games.
Lol. What do you consider lights out? The NFL season leader for passer rating was 113 for the year. Wanna guess what Carrs rating was the last 6 games of the year?
He had a 117 rating threw for over 1300 yards with 15 tds and 3ints the last 6 games. I’d have to say when your rating is a few points higher than the nfl leader, I’d say that’s pretty lights out.

Ok lol. Of those 6 games- 3 of them were against horrendous teams and defenses such as panthers, giants and falcons. The lions got a huge lead and basically played soft defense the rest of the way. But yeah completely ignore the opponents he faced. Now he played well against rams and bucs- but he also lost the rams game which basically took us out of playoff contention.
This is what people do every offseason. They hang on to some hope that so called player was good because he played good later or at some part of the season without assessing circumstances or teams they faced. In essence Carr basically had a good 6 game run against some really bad competition in a 17 game season. Is that what we’re hanging our hats on- you want to call that “lights out” go ahead but I call it facing easy competition.
Also if you really want to be accurate by using the NFL season leader for passer rating- use his passer rating against the same competition and then compare to Carr for those 6 games- otherwise thats not an accurate comparison.
