Justice Crichton is one of the three in dissent. I respect his levelheadedness way more than that of some of the justices in the majority, but in this case he is wrong. The problem with his opinion is he leaves people without hope or remedy for the mess to which they find themselves held hostage.
The only solution he offers to anyone with sense who wants better for themselves and their families is to abandon B.R. That is a problem that feeds on itself and makes B.R. and any other city in that predicament destined for chaos and then death. Think Lake Providence on a larger scale.
St. George offers a solution short of that disaster. Baton Rouge remains viable, maybe through its nearby bedroom community, but some of it thrives and offers people a future.
