None of those schools were necessarily great but every time Judge Parker would start moving kids around, more people left for private / parochial schools or a surrounding parish.


The quality of kids in the non-magnet portions of the system is at an all time low between having three magnet HS removing good kids from the regular schools combined with lots of other kids not entering the system at all.


What used to be a bell curve of kids from A to F is now heavily weighted towards C D F because A and B kids are in magnets or in a different system entirely.

Yeah, we even had forced busing at Central when I was there because we were still in EBRPSS. I guess Central was far enough out where it was probably only 10-15% of the student population though, so it was still a viable option for most.

They carved out a Central district right in the middle of Scotlandville.
