It’s a pick with a high floor given that the worst case scenario is he’s a guard. We needed that security.
The value at 14 isn’t there for a guard, given what we passed on and the fact that a guy like Barton goes off at 1.26. They’ll be a lot of revisionists history if Fuaga can’t stick at tackle

With how they missed on Penning, and a lot of picks over the years, the Saints don’t have the luxury of taking value in the draft considering the state of the roster. That’s just the truth. Doesn’t make it right. Doesn’t make it wrong, either. I just don’t know if you can make a “value” statement on a player or a position without them having played a snap in the league yet. If the Saints nailed a Pro Bowl guard with that pick, or even if he’s just an 10 year starter, are we really going to be complaining?
They need to hit on picks. I think they hit on Fuaga, even if he has to slide to guard. That’s something I’m OK with considering the circumstances. Fuaga is going to be successful no matter what position he’s at.

GS, as a hall of fame saints talk poster I got nothing but love for you. Fuaga is 1000% a tackle.
I know him moving to guard is just discussion but nothing about him besides a few scouting blurbs suggests he’s a guard to me
