Just curious but would something like this still be in the exact same location as it was 60+ years ago? Due to it’s lack of a protective atmosphere, The moon is constantly bombarded with space debris, solar flares, etc.. I would think that anything placed on the moon would either be severely degraded, damaged, or not in the same location it was 60+ years ago.

The moon doesn't have surface liquid water, tides, weather, or wind. no surface oxgyen, no rust. No heavy gravity weighing on objects to collapse them.

There also isnt much asteroid activity with the moon these days. *only* about 33,000 tiny meteoroids hit the moon a year over the 14.6 million square mile surface. Most all of the giant craters on the moon are ancient.
