This was OKC's recipe all season. It's ok to be 27th in the NBA in offensive rebs when you're 3rd-best in both eFG% and lowest TO rate. And it's ok to be 29th in def rebs when you're 4th in opponent eFG% and first in forcing TOs
Against any other team in the playoffs this is a major issue. But with who our coach and our stars are they get away with it. Next round mavs/clippers will destroy this recipe by okc. Its just not a winning strategy, unfortunately we just have bigger problems.

The thing with CJ giving up 30ppg in the two games, it's not like you can really do much to stop that, but you can at least counter it by scoring.
Yeah guys like Dame and Trae have similar stats against them, but if they put up 30-40 points on their own and dish out 8-10 assists, kind of makes you forget about being terrible on defense.
CJ can't give up 30, and then only score 15 and be mostly ineffective on offense.

I would like to make some comments on this. Locally all we’ve heard is “worst 1 seed ever” and talk like that. On the other hand those same national pundits claim the west was best ever with 10 teams above 500 and the 11th at 500. OKC had to play all the teams. Also consider that the top 3 west teams all play in the OKC division so they played the 2/3 seeds 8 times (4 each). To get the 1 seed was not a fluke. Doesn’t mean they go to finals though.
I will say though, I don’t expect them to win the west either LAC/Mavs will likely beat them but with their coaching they could pull off the win. Provided they win 2 of next 5. This is the very first time we get to see what our HC can do when game planning a series. He’s only gotten to play one team one game at a time during reg season. Curious to see his adjustments thru many games. He made some last night but thats only game 2, I need to see more.
One other note. Even though I’m a OKC fan, I always feel a connection to NO. When we got them as a loaner team for 2 years, the city did everything to make it seem like a NO home game. I recall when CP3 was drafted and played here in those strange days. But the fans came out and actually had more both seasons than NO had the prior 2 years. It was something completely new for the city and they embraced it.
I have been here some time but have bookmarks and don’t explore much. I had forgotten there was a NO NBA board here. Had a thread in “Other Sports” last night and was wondering where everyone was. Then I noticed this morning a board. I always forget to actually read what all boards are here lol.
