Don’t shoot the messenger, I also think this was BS if it went down the way Boone said, but the umpire told the media afterward that he was not responding to anything that was said from Boone’s direction, by him or a fan, but to something said from the other side of the Yankee dugout and rather than go down there and try to pick out who said it, and to keep a player in the game rather than the manager, he threw Boone out to send a message. He said he’d never thrown a player or manager out for something a fan said, and he thought Boone was trying to spin it that way and make that the story. Take that as you will.

He was wrong, and there is video evidence. He would have been better off just admitting he fricked up. Come out AFTER watching the incident replay and say, "Look, it was the heat of the moment; I thought Boone or a coach said something, and I ejected Boone. I was wrong."

Just blatantly lying to everyone's face to cover up for a pathetic error everyone saw in essentially real time

He should be suspended and then made fun of publicly by MLB for concocting the lie. Honestly, I think you should be treated more harshly for the subsequent public lying (especially where it falsely implicates other people) than for the original incident (cough, Myles Garrett, cough). But alas, nobody ever is.

Well that is completely retarded. The dude made a mistake and thought the coach said something when he didn't. Just own it he made a mistake why say this stupid crap
