Anyone who is saying that women can't/don't do this on the regular is full of shite. I used to travel for work fairly often, and hotel bar hookup culture is real AF.

Define “on the regular”.

How many of the millions of married women in the country are hanging out alone in hotel bars? Or even bars in general?

My friends and I must be ugly because I don't think we've ever even spoken to random men on trips much less get to the point of hooking up.

Granted, we don't really go on the types of trips where we'd be meeting men nor do we stay in accommodations that lend themselves to us meeting anyone. Certainly men aren't falling out the sky in our AirBnb in a family neighborhood in Fredericksburg.

I think you're conflating things, truthfully. The women who *won't * do the hotel bar hookup are the ones who don't go in the first place. Good women, who want to stay faithful, don't hang out in places where they're likely to be hit on/picked up. Instead, they check in, hit the hotel gym, and likely have breakfast alone. Otherwise, they're in their room, facetiming their families back home. Y'know, just like decent married men are doing.

But the ones who *do* want to, or are DTF, they're hanging out at the bar with a glass (or three) of wine and nibbling on their $20 salad.

Hooking up with strange ain't my scene. But I do observe, and I pay attention to my surroundings. I used to stay at this one hotel in Chicagoland often enough that I was friendly with the waitstaff. They could spot the whore class before I could. It's absolutely a thing.

It's even a major subplot of Up in the Air, which is an excellent flick about corporate travel culture.
