Mine not very different from yours. For years after passing my boards, I was a behavioral health practitioner sitting and waiting my turn behind a HORRIBLE clinical director at what I thought was going to be my end all, be all dream job. 6 years I waited for that train wreck to retire only yo find out as her time was dwindling they were talking w a shiny new hire that they felt was better than that schmuck that had been playing second fiddle all those years.
I wasn't fired, but it was made very clear my time there was going to get worse and worse and that I'd never get my shot, so I applied elsewhere.... it was horrifying. My son was 3 months old at the time, and I went from just about never praying to praying like crazy not to fail my family.
I got a job withing 2 days of looking... a place that added onto an existing facility and three the kitchen sink to get me. Made clinical director of that local clinic a few months in and now sit here today chief director of the whole damn company.... 6 clinics throughout the state and counting.
The way it all happened was so beyond perfect down to the minute timing it feels like. Me and my wife still occasionally talk about how someone was clearly guiding and looking out for me/us.
Cheers to bigger and better brother
