Here's the thing. Will Russia and China start to increase their influence with the withdraws of France and the US? Sure. But guess what, over time those countries will face the same challenges and end up with a headache that outweighs any reward.

It doesn’t seem like we had a ton of influence considering the fact that a military coup happened while we were there.

Agreed. Countries like this are inherently unstable. It’s simply not worth our trouble and probably not theirs either.
