Saints have the 7th best record in the NFL since 2000. I would assume that would put their average draft position since then in the mid 20's(barring trades). LSU has had a lot of highly drafted first round players since then. So of those 126 players, the Saints didn't even have an opportunity to draft guessing 20 of those Tigers (LSU has had 26 first rounders since 2000). 126/32 = 3.94, so even with the above mental gymnastics, The Saints aren't that far behind the actual average.
Well we all know about the La'el Collins deal. A deal in which the Saints to my knowledge never even interviewed the young man. Yet he went undrafted. Now, here is a young man in your own backyard. Highly recruited, lived up to expectations, not one ounce of problems from him, from high school through college.
The Saints should have had more information on La'el than the damn FBI. Yet, they among others blackballed that kid into being undrafted. Now you cannot sit here and tell me they couldn't have used La'el Collins.
