It appears nothing needs to be done manually in Turbo Tax to get a Louisiana extension like you need to do for Fed. Is this correct from louisiana.gov website as follows??:
How do I file an extension for Louisiana state taxes?
Louisiana automatically grants all individuals a 6-month extension of time to file their income tax return. For calendar year filers, the filing date is automatically extended to November 15th. You are NOT required to file a form in order to obtain this automatic extension.

You must be a very low anxiety individual if you are asking this question on April 15th.

My CPA decided to send me my passive K1 (family business) returns literally Friday evening 4/12/24. Had to pay my fed stuff in Turbo Tax just now and trying to make sure Louisiana is not a manual extension request like the Feds.

Louisiana now grants an automatic extension to file so there is no physically extension to submit.
If you have a balance due to LA that must be paid by May 15th and there is an “extension payment voucher” that you can use to submit this.

I appreciate this. I forgot that Louisiana is one month behind feds so May 15th on the front end, and then I started doing a little research and saw the La Dept of Revenue website where I can enter the voucher.

Most states now do an automatic exfension if you file a federal extension, LA was one of the last holdouts.
However, if you need to pay, you still have to pay.

Yep, I'm going to do it on the voucher and hope my 11/15 actual submittal date is not too far off.

I spent over an hour yesterday finding this information. When you log in to your account they even have a link for 2023 extension and it is a broken link.

The whole thing is ridiculous. It starts with some crap like, Have you filed taxes after 2004? Then it drops to 2023 lol. WTF?!
