It’s an issue I care about morally. This would set an absolute terrible precedent to not exert the one way i can change my party’s position.
You want to kneel starting in the 3rd quarter and play prevent defense because we finally got the lead in the second.
Why would I be satisfied with a purely symbolic measure where Louisiana children getting murdered in California?

You think "we" are in the lead on abortion?

Because you are not going to go from abortion legal everywhere to abortion being banned everywhere in one fell swoop.
Why is this so hard for you to understand?

Not trying to be insulting, but it sounds like you need to spend more time outside of Louisiana. The pro-lifers are not in the lead and haven’t been for quite some time. The anticipated red wave that didn’t happen in 2022 was almost solely because of Roe v Wade being overturned. Pro life will destroy Republicans. More of the country is pro choice today than they were 10 years ago. The momentum won’t swing back. People who are pro-choice aren’t going to convert to being pro-life simply because a pro-life candidate gets elected from time to time.
Let’s put it this way: abortion wasn’t even made federally illegal. And it still cost Republicans a red wave. That’s how unpopular pro-life is on a grand scale. People don’t even care that many states won’t be affected, they just don’t want a pro-lifer in office. It does not matter that you think it’s dumb. It does not matter if you think it’s immoral. It matters how they vote, and they are not going to vote the way you want them to, no matter what you say.

That’s fine, just know that the more that Republicans run on it, the more they will be hurt by it. Republicans can either cave, or Democrats will gain more and more power on that platform alone and force Republicans to cave. It ends the same way.
